The Domino Effect in Fiction
by admin
Domino is a game that is played with dominoes. The game originated in France after 1750. The word “domino” originally denoted a long hooded cloak that was worn together with a mask during carnival season or at a masquerade. It may have also referred to the black domino pieces contrasting with a white priest’s surplice. In fiction, a scene domino refers to an element that is insignificant on its own, but when added to a larger picture it naturally influences what comes next. This idea is useful in writing because it teaches us to use small details in a story in order to develop a greater narrative. Hevesh, a domino artist who has more than 2 million YouTube subscribers, creates spectacular domino setups for films, TV shows, and events—including the album launch of pop star Katy Perry. Her largest creations take several nail-biting minutes to fall. This is because the first domino must have inertia—the tendency to remain in place when no outside force is pushing or pulling on it. But a tiny nudge can be enough to start the domino effect, and as more tiles are added, the power of the display grows. As the editor in chief of Domino, Brandon Doyle understands the importance of recognizing employees and rewarding them for their hard work. He promotes a culture of respect and empowerment at the company, which includes a flexible work schedule and opportunities for part-time employment. He also encourages collaboration between teams and departments—and even between Domino’s restaurants—to achieve business goals. Domino is a popular game that can be played in groups of two or more players. The game consists of 28 double-six dominoes, which are shuffled into the stock or boneyard, and then drawn from one at a time until each player has seven in their hand. Players then score points by placing their dominoes on the edge of a square in front of them, or on their opponent’s squares, to block their opponents from scoring. After a mission went wrong during M-Day, Domino was recruited by G.W. Bridge to help prevent S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from exposing mutants to the world. The team—Domino, Sunspot, and Siryn—went undercover as a camera crew to infiltrate a medical research facility they believed was conducting anti-mutant experiments. During the mission, Domino realized she shared a connection with the mutant Milo Thurman. The pair were able to rescue mutants from the facility, but Milo was killed by Donald Pierce’s cyborg Reavers, who believed his predictive powers would help them defeat a new form of the Terrigen Bomb. Domino later joined Cable’s Six Pack mercenary team, and then reformed X-Force with her old teammates Grizzly and Hammer. She also served as a member of Providence, the mutant island home of Storm. Domino has also teamed up with Deadpool and the Merc with a Mouth.
